This was one of the things about where I was in Taos. It wasn’t that I never felt ‘right’ going to the Pueblo, it was that my blood ‘knew better’ than to just roll up in there, all “tadah! Amerikka!” The natives to the area I knew in passing in town were different with me. Because I wasn’t white. But it was a good thing. They knew I had eyes to see. I didn’t go to the public ceremonies because they didn’t sit right in my spirit. Due to the spirit brought to them by tourists.

It’s not tricky or slippery. It’s … exactly what dude said.

Personally? People will do what they do & decipher your doings they catch wind of through their own viewfinders.
