Okay~ for the Kwanzaa part:
Imani is To believe with all our hearts in our people, our parents, our teachers, our leaders, and the righteousness and victory of our struggle.
IMANI, day seven of Kwanzaa
That is the perfect sentiment to be starting off a new year with. Hopefully your “our” is defined with broader strokes than ever before after all that went down in 2020.
The Hoppin John stew is made to slowcook during the Kuumba feast day prep on December 31st.
It’s what you have after you scream Happy New Year…
The aftermath of all that?
Once you recover from celebrating however ya do~
Bagels & Lox, NYC Style is late brunch/hait of the dawg type flow for New years Day for your Marathons, movie-nights and whatnot. I’m all about a bit of Expendables bloodletting to kick off a new year to get the juices flowing.
This is another NYC tradition. No cooking on New Years day! Stock up ahead of time!
I hope some bliss showed up for you by the end of 2020 and that we all were able to enter 2021 with some bliss and hope.
