This is why I write, honestly. Survivors are holding on to who in them was harmed as a child so fn hard, the kid that nobody else rescued. And nobody gets that’s the root of all the pain, the self-medication, the degradation. They’re subconsciously still trying to yank that inner kid out of harm’s way. They’re still tethered to the hurt & rage they get told by those who enabled it they have No right to process or express. That this world tells them makes them a “bad person,” more than the ones who harmed them.
