I had on a piece absently the other day and this woman in a shop cornered me & pounced. In front of another lady with no clue the audacious insouciance afoot.

“Where did you get that necklace? I looooove the bag-“

Shots fired rapidly, misdirection- the other woman’s head popped up at the alarming rat-a-tat-tat of it all, bending around me to see because my purse was casually wedged against my shoulder blade.

I demurred.

“Oh~ this? I got this in some antique shop up in Martinez…” I smiled, keeping the pittance I’d paid for it out of everything but mah eyes.

She laid in, listing off all that I had absently known on first sight with the precision of a woman who shows out in the fashist hunger games & was aroused by my casual blasphemy, pairing wise.

She narrowed her eyes when mines winked lower to the lowest lowball she could telepathically imagine. “& the bag- is it Balenciaga from xyz because it looks like-” the syllables tumbled out of her sportive spirit, jockeying for space in the parlay.

The other woman’s head swiveled back and forth between two fashists fucking with each other in broad daylight & shook her head …like she felt dirty lol.
