Let’s cook and Cleanse together: The Candida cleanse regimen

Metaphysically speaking…everyone taking a minute to re-center their systems and processes around anxiousness and restlessness could be effective for the collective ecosystem right about now.

Because guess what?

It’s November 20th. We’re a week out from the official start of a Holiday season that will be unlike any we’ve experienced collectively in over a century.

The reverberations from communities facing 250,000+ empty seats due to loved ones that have passed on top of the thousands more currently stuck in isolation in hospitals unable to have ANY contact with their kin as we are still solemnly navigating through the latest wave of this public health crisis are horrific enough, absences no one has had the bandwith to process on top of every other life-quaking extreme we’ve all soldiered through. It has had me sending up prayers that a spirit of tenderness hits this country before the holidays do this week… for months.

Fight or flight energies being exacerbated due to the quarantined parameters of things locking back down hard trying to save lives our government is fine with sacrificing to a demagogue are to be expected.

I am hoping for compassion to abound, towards ourselves and others.

As many of you know~ this NOVEMBER iiii AM PROPOSING A SERIES OF CLEANSING regimens TO RECALIBRATE OUR SYSTEMS IN A TANGIBLE WAY…

Together.

Last week the focus was the Heavy Metal cleanse. Prior to that, we focused on healing the Gall Bladder and Liver.

This week: The Candida Cleanse regimen.

Candida is a type of yeast that’s part of the body’s natural gut microbiome. Usually, a person’s body contains a healthy ratio of naturally occurring bacteria to yeast. This balance of ‘gut flora’ is a crucial part of your immune system and digestive health.

When this balance is lost during times of stress or after a course of antibiotics, Candida yeasts are able to expand until they control a large portion of your gut. Symptoms of this overgrowth range from yeast infections, skin issues like psoriasis, fatigue, mood swings, brain fog, and digestive problem.

It is believed that one of the main contributors to candida overgrowth is a poor diet since refined carbohydrates (sugar-sweetened beverages, fruit juices, pastries, white bread, white pasta, white rice) and sugar feed the yeast. The candida diet is a strict diet meant to alleviate the symptoms of candida overgrowth.

Real transparency talk?

To tell someone to avoid stress[ or stress eating] in these times is insulting.

Asking them HOW they decompress is proactive, and if they run short on ideas it leaves the door open for you to suggest some of your staple ways to chill. Share and share alike.

Consciously focusing on alleviating stress will help you sleep.

Exercising will help your lymphatic system move… and steering clear of sugary foods that feed candida in your body will boost your immune system in the midst of everything else afoot.

Now you can go DEEP into this, and if you’re feeling that nudge you definitely should explore.

But you can also test this by simply shifting your eating focus. Non starchy foods like kale, artichokes, onions, asparagus, broccoli, brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, celery, raw garlic, rutabaga and zucchini are a great place to start relying less on sugar-laden snacks and dishes that are feeding systemic imbalances in your gut.

Lemons, berries, sauerkraut, avocado, fatty fish and gluten free grains (if any) will balance out your plate this week. But no dairy, no gluten, no rice, caffeine, nuts, sugar, booze…not even black tea. And no carrots or beets. Huge sugar offenders. They don’t call it a sugar-beet for nothing.

This is why we’re doing this before the holidays… so you can see if eliminating these foods this week make you feel better.

When and if you decide to feast you will have no illusions on the other side as to what caused any discomfort in your system.

It sounds a bit guinea piggish, but better to be your own test subject with your own groceries than ending up surrounded by people educated to hear symptoms and consult giant codices that don’t even consider candida overgrowth an illness [even though the symptoms of it check many boxes and a shift in dietary focus can pretty much alleviate them].

Also, a redux of those Mimi Kuo Deemer heart, san jiao & small intestine qi gong moves that were danced with during Rawktober week four last month might feel really good for you as you are acclimating to eating this kind of clean for the next few days.

And pay attention to how you Actually feel. We’ve been in such a panic all year as a people and it’s been whipped up… This is about grounding back into the truth. Think FIRE, 5 element qi gong style.

Next Issue? It’s thanksgiving, maaaan!

And I hope it’s a long weekend that reeks of compassion, tenderness, respect and appreciation shown for each of you.

Check in on people, even those who normally are the strong ones.

You’d be surprised the good the smallest nods of kindness can do.

& Okay~ a few recipes may trickle out on how to turn out your leftovers.

But honestly? I’m just hoping we all hold everyone who is grieving the first holidays without the 260,000+ victims of this horrific pandemic in their hearts, minds and actual arms wherever we can.
