There are 33 out of the 100 U.S. Senate seats up for regular election in 2024.10 seats held by Republicans, 19 seats held by Democrats, 4 seats held by independents who caucus with Democrats. Two special elections are also scheduled for November 5, 2024.Right now the split in the Senate is :Majority (51) Democratic (47) Independent (4); Minority (49) Republican (49).
All maximum 435 Members of the House of Representatives serve two-year terms and are considered for reelection every even year. So in 2024…all 435 of those seats are up for grabs.
In theory….Voting blue down the line could feasibly get everything they’ve spitefully loadblocked from moving forward to get pushed through once & for all, especially if the calls to erase the filibuster & expand the court by executive order are moved on in the next five months.
But this move would have to include appointing democratic judges to flush out all the dirty ones Trump appointed across the country & avidly getting the bought girl and boys off the Supreme Court who’ve shown they’ve been purchased, via impeachment or retirement to avoid bona fide prosecution. & Also term limits in both chambers Of congress. Those limits could finally get these fuckers to focus on building out legit legacies of service To their constituents in the set windows of availability they’d have, as well as inspire the millennial & genZ waves to start being openly civic minded again…so there becomes a point to participating in politics again that is about the betterment of the country.
Right now there’s a lot of bad d-list actors who bombed outta Hollywood sputtering their asses in congress & hamming for the camera. Trump’s entire bit is rooted in the presidency just being a big man part to play, like their patron Saint, Mr Crossdressing Ronnie Reagan & superhead Nancy.
But it doesn’t have to be reduced to that. This Trump shit really could be the apogee of all that noise and the political sector can become the progressive sector for forward movement we actually deserve.
Imagine a populace of grown up feral latchkey kids WANTING to have their legacies include maximum 8 to 12 years in congress with bullet lists of things they fucking got done for the greater good on their watch! It could be wild times. Bragging about productive shit we pulled off for tha country, our kids and younger siblings getting hyped to outdo us 🇺🇸-
