I have friends who have other takes, by the way. Some think the MAGA folks are simply leaning into it because they KNOW they can get away with it. Like no person of Indian descent is going to step to them and her being “only Indian” wouldn’t help. & after Ann Coulter said directly to Vivek “I agree with 90% of what you stand for but would never vote for you because you’re Indian”… I get that vantage point too.

BUT, even giving that space to be a valid possibility I still think what we’re witnessing is more viscerally rooted in the American psychological realities of that 85% LBJ spoke about & the horrible things done in the name of coddling, ruling & fleecing them like stupid, racist sheep. … I think it’s deep-seated as fuck, festering in the mindfucks they initially enacted to get this thing off the ground. I do not believe these MAGA people are even capable of an effective global worldview at all. Which is why all had to whitewash themselves to even try a hand at their “game.” Look at how their ancestors moved everywhere they went. Who they Had to make be at the cultural bottom of the pile in their wake. Look into what happened even when the last monarchs of Hawaii traveled by train across the United States, the states of the aboriginal Ainu in Japan, especially after MacArthur. Look at Australia. When it comes down to brass tacks their “Indian” & “Jamaican” would shorthand right back to a snarled sentiment, “DEI.”
